Legislative Advocacy

Legislative Advocacy is a key benefit for members of ARM, and as a member your input and information is valuable to make sure the industry is treated fairly by state laws and regulations.  In the past few years, some of ARM’s legislative successes include:

• Creating an aggregate preservation property tax law and prohibiting host community fees on aggregate

• Expanding the minimum length for single unit vehicles

• Ensuring nine-ton roads on all paved county and state highways unless posted down

• Clarifying special mobile equipment status for concrete pumpers and aggregate conveyors

• Lobbying with a coalition to secure needed funding for transportation construction

• Advocating for changes to help law enforcement deal with scrap metal theft

ARM’s contract lobbyist at the State Capitol, Becca Pryse with Ewald Consulting, works directly on accomplishing ARMs legislative priorities, monitors legislative activity, and develops essential relationships with lawmakers and other key stakeolders.
