After over 34 years in the concrete and cement industry, Lee Hoffman (Territory Sales Manager: Southern Minnesota at Lafarge) will retire on Tuesday, July 31st. Lee started in the industry in 1963 by working for his father Walt Hoffman, manager of Wells Concrete Products, during high school summer breaks. Lee then entered the US Army Reserves where he served as a Demolitions Instructor. Lee worked for Johnson Reels and Ford Motor Company before becoming a Territory Sales Representative for Northwestern Cement in 1973. Lee then spent a year as a Sales Manager for Concrete MN in Morris before coming to work for Huron Cement in 1980, which would eventually become Lafarge. Lee has many great accomplishments, the most recent of which is a Ready Mix Truck Rollover Safety program which he developed and presented to over 1600 drivers in 2006. Lee received many letters of thanks from his customers, who credit his program in significantly reducing the number of accidents faced by their drivers. Lee will continue to offer this program on a consulting basis to Lafarge customers. Although Tuesday will mark the end of a 34 year career selling cement, Lee has an even bigger day on Wednesday, August 1st: Lee and Connie Hoffman will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Please join us in wishing Lee well for both of these great accomplishments. |
