| ARM Legislative Breakfast and Board of Directors Meeting Scheduled for January 30th | |
| The Aggregate and Ready Mix Association of Minnesota is pleased to present the first in its 2008 Legislative Breakfast meeting series. The meeting will be held January 30th at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. Confirmed guests at the breakfast are Senator Steve Murphy, Chair, Minnesota Senate Transportation Committee; Commissioner Dan McElroy, DEED and Representative Marty Seifert, Minority Leader, Minnesota House of Representatives. The Legislative Breakfast meeting provides a wonderful opportunity for members to be involved in meaningful dialogue of legislative issues that impact the aggregate and ready mix industries with key legislators. The Legislative Breakfast provides an occasion to meet with legislators face-to-face to discuss important legislative issues. The breakfast is also a great forum for members to discuss the current state of the industry in regards to legislative issues and a time to formulate plans of action. We invite you to be a part of this exciting event! The ARM Board of Directors will meet immediately following the conclusion of the Legislative Breakfast. Storm Resistant Homes & Buildings Seminar Planned |

| ARM will be working with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association to bring a seminar titled “Storm Resistant Homes & Buildings” to Minnesota April 9, 2008. Concrete has long been recognized as the material of choice for resisting high winds, flying debris, and storm surge associated with hurricanes and tornadoes. Now attendees of this seminar can learn how concrete building systems can be used to build storm resistant homes and buildings right here in Minnesota. ARM has applied to the State of Minnesota for approval for five hours of CEU’s for Building Contractors. The seminar is AIA approved. Contact the ARM office at 952.707.1250 with questions. Dave Fennessy – ARM’s New Promotions Director |

| ARM’s new Promotions Director, Dave Fennessy, started his position at ARM on Monday, January 14th. Dave is responsible for the promotion of the use of concrete in the construction of commercial parking lots and the use of ready mix concrete in residential construction to owners and specifiers throughout Minnesota. He will work closely with ARM Ready Mix Concrete Producer Members to help make concrete the construction material of choice in Minnesota. Minnesota State Mining Conference |

The Minnesota State Mining Conference, which will be held February 7-8 in St. Cloud, will address all of the current issues associated with aggregate mining, such as permitting, environmental review, and reclamation. In addition, this year’s conference will focus on current legal and legislative issues. The conference will benefit landowners, private industry, township officials, federal agencies, legislators, local government staff, natural resource agencies, county commissioners, state agencies, law firms/legal entities, planning and zoning officials, conservation groups, and college students. The conference will be especially useful for local governments across the state that have to deal with all of these issues, as well as companies that work within the regulations and other parties.
